COURSE OVERVIEW
The primary aims of an A1-level English course (preliminary level) focus on building foundational language skills for basic communication. These goals are tailored for beginners and typically include the following objectives:
1. Understanding and Using Common Everyday Expressions:
- Objective: Equip learners with the ability to comprehend and utilize simple phrases and expressions that are commonly used in daily life.
2. Introducing Themselves and Others:
- Objective: Enable learners to confidently introduce themselves and others in basic social interactions.
3. Asking and Answering Questions About Personal Details:
- Objective: Teach learners how to ask and respond to simple questions regarding personal information.
4. Communicating in a Simple Way:
- Objective: Encourage learners to engage in basic conversations, especially when the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
Prerequisites
To be eligible for enrollment in this A1-level English course, a student must meet one of the following criteria:
Holder of Anglia Primary or Equivalent Language Qualification:
The student must possess a recognized language qualification equivalent to the Anglia Primary level, indicating they have acquired the necessary foundational skills in English.
Relevant Educational Basis Determined by Testing:
If the student does not have a formal qualification, they must demonstrate the appropriate level of English proficiency through a placement test administered by a member of the course staff. This test will assess whether the student has the necessary background knowledge to succeed in the A1 course.
Only students who meet these criteria will be successfully registered for the course, ensuring they are adequately prepared for the curriculum at this level.
